Quick thinking saves a patient’s life

Aya traveler, Elijah, was able to quickly recognize his patient was having a Code Stroke and help save their life! He got this shout out from his facility: “I wanted to take a moment to let you all know how much we appreciate everything you did with the Code Stroke last Wednesday. Elijah, thank you for your excellent patient care that led you to quickly recognize the patient’s signs and symptoms as a stroke.”

Elijah, we’re grateful for the top-notch care you provide for your patients and proud to have you on our team!

Aya RN, Amber, goes above and beyond

Amber got a thank you note from one of her recent patient’s family members:

“I wanted to take a minute to say thank you for the good care and support my husband received recently. He was well cared for by the most caring, courteous nurses and staff. I would like to highly compliment Nurse Amber, who went above and beyond in trying to improve his condition best she could. She took the extra steps and changed his room to be facing the window, trying to help him get days and nights in the right order. She gave him the ‘spa’ treatment with hair washing, drying, shave, etc. He was in the ICU for 6 weeks. She always addressed him with, ‘my friend, [patient’s name].’ lt assured our family he was as special to her as he is to us. Her super consideration is of great value. She is a very good nurse. The care he received certainly put our family at ease when we left for home, as we live 50 miles away. It meant so much to us. Thank you for everything.”

Thank you, Amber, for going above and beyond for your patient. Keep up the great work.

One of Kayla’s onsite managers gave her a sweet shout out:

“Recently I had the pleasure to work with Kayla, who has been helping our team during the COVID pandemic. I just wanted to share how impressed I was with her communication skills, being able to adapt quickly, being timely, dependable and just always focused on her patients. Despite being assigned challenging patient cases, Kayla was always on top of things and kept me well informed, which I truly appreciated. Having confidence and peace of mind that your critical patients will be well taken care of is priceless, especially during these times! Thank you for sending her our way!”

Great job, Derrick. We appreciate you as well!

An angel in a time of need

Aya RN, Sakesta, got a sweet thank you note from a patient’s family:

“My family and I will forever be grateful for the compassionate care my grandmother received and the compassion shown to us during the last few days of her life. The nurses made sure my grandmother heard our voices each day, holding the phone to her ear as we told her we loved her. I can honestly say these individuals were not only her angels but ours, too.

I would like to recognize each person that cared for my grandmother; her nurses were Catherine, Annie, Pam, Nadine, Adrian, Erika, Sakesta and Megan. ”

Thank you, Sakesta, for being a light for our patient and her family during a difficult time.

Aya RN, Rachel, wins a DAISY Award!

Travel nurse, Rachel, has been making big impressions in her work as a pediatric nurse. So much so, she won a DAISY Award for providing compassionate care. Read a couple of notes from her patients (and their family members) below:

“Rachel, you are the sweetest! Thanks for visiting with me and taking good care of [patient name]! You’ve become a great friend and I hope we get to run into you again, like when we’re at the clinic (no more hospital stays).”

“After being a patient for over 8 years I’ve always had great care. However, I’ve never had such an enjoyable stay. Rachel made me feel at home … we laughed even though I wasn’t having the best time. She deserves this award because, in a way, she treated me like family and made me feel safe and let me know that everything was gonna be okay without even saying it. Thank you for valuing me and supporting me through everything!”

Congratulations on your DAISY, Rachel. You deserve it!
