In 2021, Mayor todd gloria proclaimed

February 1st to be Travel Nurse Day in the City of San Diego

“Travel nurses are true healthcare heroes and we want to thank Aya Healthcare for ensuring San Diego hospitals and hospitals all over the nation have the nurses they need to help save lives.”

Todd Gloria, Mayor of San Diego

This proclamation, established in 2021, is a testament to the significance of your service to communities around the country. Your dedication has not gone unnoticed, and it will not be forgotten.

  • Your patients don’t see a traveler, they see a nurse who cares. But we see you.

You have the strength and adaptability to give up the comfort of your close colleagues and the halls of your hospital for new faces, a new facility in a new city.

  • You have the vision to trade familiarity for adventure, believing that the possibilities ahead are greater than the fear of the unknown.

Driven by an unwavering belief in the work, you have the courage to leave your family and loved ones and step into your future.

  • Your hope and resilience have been your compass on this journey, even when your destination remained unclear.

And because you did, for millions of patients across the US, you were the thing they needed most in their moment of need: a nurse who cares.

Fostering the future of travel nursing

Aya is committed to inspiring future nurses and supporting them in their educational journey. That's why each year, we award up to ten $1,000 scholarships to nursing students. Recipients are selected by a committee of seasoned nurse leaders on our clinical services team. Congratulations to our 2023 winners!
