INTERIM SOCIAL WORK MANAGER JOBS

Facilities use interim leaders for many reasons, including planned leadership transitions due to retirement or promotions, managing unexpected openings or to help lead during restructuring or other organizational change.

While it may vary by facility, this role typically requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work. You’ll also need an active RN license or an LCSW in the state where you’ll be working. Your credentialing specialist will streamline the compliance process to ensure you start on time. In addition to these requirements, extensive experience in social work practice and management, plus a strong commitment to social work ethics and best practices, are vital.

In any interim role, you’ll need strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities with all levels of the organization — from direct reports to leadership — and the flexibility required to thrive in a temporary role. Depending on the scope of the position, project management experience may also be beneficial.
