Teresa and Nelson are nominated for a DAISY Award
A patient’s daughter nominated Teresa and Nelson for a DAISY Award, praising them for their kindness and loving care.
The daughter wrote, “My father spent 10 days in the MICUI. His original prognosis was poor due to a hemorrhagic stroke and he had to be placed on a ventilator. Throughout his stay, we were on an erratic, emotional rollercoaster, but my dad’s nursing team was a calm presence. No one prepares you for a traumatic event. It’s a complete shock, and you feel stuck with no way out. If it weren’t for the kindness of several of my father’s nurses, I don’t know how we would have made it through his time there. I want to write a letter of appreciation to Nelson and Teresa, and I would also like to nominate them for a DAISY Award. I can’t put into words how much their presence meant to us during the worst moments of our lives, and they will have a special place in our hearts for the rest of our lives. My dad’s progress is an absolute miracle and would not have been possible without the angels on your unit. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Teresa and Nelson, your kindness and loving care meant the world to your patient and their family. Congratulations on a well-deserved nomination!
