Patient nominates Aya traveler Eva for the DAISY Award

This week, a patient was so happy with her nurse’s care that she nominated her for the DAISY award. Read her sweet nomination note below.

Dear Eva,

Words will fail to do proper justice to explain how amazing you are! You are an angel. I hope you know what a huge difference you made in my visit and my life. Your smile and kind words made a difference. I was so scared [about] everything…and then on top of that being told I am diabetic.

Your kind words of empowerment and encouragement mean everything. You went out of your way to provide empathy and assurance. I knew nothing about diabetes and you went above and beyond to print resources to help me understand my new condition. You check in on me often and always have a smile no matter how tired or rough your shift has been.

You deserve more than an award for everything you do. I am so grateful that I got to meet you and have you as my nurse. You have a heart of gold. I can’t thank you enough. You are part of the reason that my story is going to be happy and successful.
