Travel nurse, Rachel, has been making big impressions in her work as a pediatric nurse. So much so, she won a DAISY Award for providing compassionate care. Read a couple of notes from her patients (and their family members) below:
“Rachel, you are the sweetest! Thanks for visiting with me and taking good care of [patient name]! You’ve become a great friend and I hope we get to run into you again, like when we’re at the clinic (no more hospital stays).”
“After being a patient for over 8 years I’ve always had great care. However, I’ve never had such an enjoyable stay. Rachel made me feel at home … we laughed even though I wasn’t having the best time. She deserves this award because, in a way, she treated me like family and made me feel safe and let me know that everything was gonna be okay without even saying it. Thank you for valuing me and supporting me through everything!”

Aya traveler, Allie, received this note from her charge after staying late one night to assist with a NICU admission.
“Thanks so much for being a team player today. I would have been soo behind if it weren’t for you. We love having your smiling face in the NICU.”

Aya traveler, Lacy, recently received a “safety in action” card at her facility for catching a medication error. She’s a pediatric nurse, and after taking the time to verify the dose with the mother of her patient, it was discovered the dose was 10x the amount it should’ve been! Because of Lacy, the dose was corrected and her patient was safe.
Thank you for taking the time to ensure your patient was being treated properly, Lacy!
Aya traveler, Sierra, is finishing up an assignment and her hospital is sad to see her go! Read the review they left for her below:
“Everyone at our hospital loves and respects Sierra! We wish she were staying as a longtime employee. As a speech language pathologist, I have worked closely with Sierra on a number of cases to develop recommendations for a least restrictive diet or determine the need for further testing with MBS or FEES imaging. She is eager to learn and respects all professions and integrates the recommendations made by speech therapy into her practice to provide the best possible care for her patients. She is a positive influence on our med-surg unit and is consistently upbeat and professional. We are sad to see her go but understand. I want to sincerely say thank you to Sierra for bringing a fresh, enthusiastic presence to our hospital.”

Aya traveler, Angela, got a positive patient shout out!
Her manager was making her rounds when one of Angela’s patients stopped her to say Angela was “… doing a phenomenal job and taking extremely good care of [her].”
Way to go, Angela! We know your patients appreciate you just as much as we do.

Aya traveler, Jessica, made a big impression on one of her patients during their delivery. Read the patient’s note below:
“I was a maternity patient a couple weeks ago when I gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby boy. I wanted to take the time to write you and make sure that a couple of the nurses who assisted me during my stay got the proper praise and recognition they deserve. Jessica was my day nurse on the big day (01/29). Jessica was beyond amazing. She was so calm and confident and knowledgeable about everything. She gave thorough yet easy to understand explanations about everything that was going on, she was very attentive and was always there for anything I needed. She answered all questions that we had (even if they were a little silly) and she made my delivery as simple and painless as possible. Her bedside manner was unmatched by any other and I really enjoyed and appreciated having her on my delivery team. She was personable, yet professional, extremely competent, polite and caring. I thanked her when we left, but wanted to make sure that she knows how much I meant it. Please make sure she knows, and that she is recognized by the hospital in some way. I really wish that there were more nurses like her on your staff and in the medical system in general.”
