Continuous praise for Aya RN, Eva!

Aya RN, Eva has received lots of praise from patients and their families! Read just a couple of them below.

She received the following thanks from a patient: “I recently had to spend three days in the hospital for blood poisoning. Eva was my primary nurse. I’m so thrilled and impressed with her professionalism, dedication, kindness and intelligence. I have a daughter, two sisters and a grandmother who are all nurses, so I know what quality nurses are. I’m sending the highest recommendations for Eva as she is so deserving.”

In addition, the patient’s sister wrote, “I’m a sister of a patient of Eva’s who had cellulitis from a cat bite. I’m a registered nurse and we all know long hours, stress and how unappreciated a nurse can be on any given day. But as a patient, especially during this pandemic, I’m sure the stress is twofold on both sides. My sister said every time I spoke to her, what wonderful care she was receiving. She spoke of how caring, attentive and kind Eva was to her. She felt comfortable just resting, healing and letting Eva care for her. Eva went above and beyond! I love my sister so much and it saddened me I could not come and help her in the hospital due to COVID. It made me sleep better at night knowing Eva was on top of her care and being so kind to her. I wanted you to know Eva was a jewel to my sister and made this far away, loving sibling, rest better in knowing that. Thank you, Eva, for taking excellent care of my sister, you are an excellent nurse!”

Sharrie was nominated for a DAISY Award!

Aya Labor and Delivery RN, Sharrie, was nominated for a DAISY Award and received remarkable feedback from her charge nurse for handling a life-changing event for a first-time mom giving birth! Read the nomination below:

“I was the charge nurse on the L&D floor the night that Sara, Sharrie and I were working with a first-time mom…[Things weren’t progressing as hoped and] instead of giving up on the patient, Sara and Sharrie changed the patients’ position every 30 min to put her in positions (difficult due to her epidural) that would aid the baby coming down in the pelvis. In the end, Sara and Sharrie single-handedly saved this patient from having a primary cesarean. She had a healthy baby vaginally. This may not sound like much, however, CMQCC developed a quality measure to decrease the Cesarean birth rate. [These nurses] changed the future of this patient’s obstetric history and her future children.”

Aya RN, Makayla saves a patient’s leg!

Makayla’s excellent attention to detail prevented a patient of hers from losing their leg! Because of this, she was also nominated for the “Great Catch” award from her facility. Her facility director wrote, “I would like to applaud and nominate travel RN, Makayla, for the “Great Catch” award because of her astute clinical pickup for one of our patients. Had it not been for her thorough examination of their left thigh, we would have missed that the patient had compartment syndrome and they may have lost their leg. Kudos to her!”

Katherine was nominated for a DAISY Award!

Aya RN, Katherine, received a Daisy nomination and a heartfelt note from a very appreciative patient. Read the note below:

“From the moment Katherine started attending to me, she gave me encouragement and kept making my pain go away with her humor. She’s a passionate nurse, full of professionalism, keen to detail and loved by everyone. RN Briana is a huge asset

Aya RN, Briana, helped out a colleague during a tough shift. Her colleague was so thankful, she passed this note on to management:

“I was running from patient to patient, calling doctors and sending patients to [other floors]. Suddenly, I’m in a [patient room] to line/lab/validate another new arrival and I get a call from Bri offering me help. I told her I could really use some help… She immediately came and helped me and was a huge lifesaver. I thought she was hall/help, but no. I just found out that she has an assignment. Wow. I just wanted to send her praise. She is a huge asset.”

Beyond the call of duty: Aya traveler Adrian saves a life

Adrian received a very sweet letter from the brother of a patient whose life he helped save.

The brother wrote, “I wanted to take the time to give a special thank you to Adrian for his quick response to the saving of my sister’s life. While I was in her room my sister began having a major seizure and I immediately ran out of her room and told Adrian what was happening. It was his quick response and split second decision prompting a ‘rapid response.’ He remained calm and began the necessary steps to ensure the saving of my sister’s life.

It is times like this when you realize just how fragile life really is. We are all too quick to point out someone’s fault, but not so quick to compliment someone when they go above the call of duty. I found the staff to be above expectations and extremely polite and efficient. The lady you guys saved happens to be one of the world’s best sisters a man could ever have. Thank you for your service.”
