Pamela receives praise from a facility manager

A facility manager praised and thanked Pamela for her work and efforts in patient care.

The manager said, “I received a compliment from a patient for Pamela. The patient had great things to say. She said Pamela really got her, understood her, helped her relax and made her feel comfortable. We don’t get many compliments for OR nurses, since patients are medicated and don’t often remember their operative team. That’s why I wanted to praise Pamela for doing such a great job. She really connected with our patients, her patients remembered her, and it was wonderful. We love Pamela!”

Pamela, your quality care and attention to detail make a difference for your patients. Keep up the good work!

Wilson is praised by his nurse manager

A nurse manager praised Wilson for saving a patient’s life with his quick thinking and action.

The nurse manager said, “A patient was seen and for something fairly minor. As the patient walked out the door, they became dizzy and fell down. Wilson got to the patient first, kept cool and did a rapid assessment. The patient was pulseless and apneic. Wilson started CPR, which resulted in a good outcome. Wilson was calm, skilled and worked excellently as part of the team. He’s a total rockstar, and his rapid and perfect response to this emergency definitely contributed to this patient’s survival. If the patient had made it out our door and dropped in the street, he would not have survived.”

You truly are a skilled and excellent worker, Wilson. Your team appreciates you, and so do we!

Gabrielle receives a DAISY Award nomination

A patient nominated Gabrielle for a DAISY Award for her supreme care and advice that made a lifelong impact on the patient.

The patient wrote, “Gabrielle was such a blessing to me. I was in the hospital with complications from COVID. No family members could be with me, so I was very lonely. Gabby was amazing and was there for me both as a patient and a person. I know it’s her job to take care of patients, but she went above and beyond for me. I was in the hospital for observation of low oxygen levels and because of my rare syndrome, Mounier-Kuhn syndrome. Before I was discharged, Gabby taught me exercises to strengthen my lungs and ease my shortness of breath, which is a part of my syndrome. Not only do I feel better, but I have also lost six pounds from the exercises. Gabby took time to listen and help me find solutions to better my health.”

A quality award for a quality nurse, Gabrielle. Congratulations! You deserve it.

A patient nominates Dionne for a DAISY Award

A patient nominated Dionne for a DAISY Award for exceeding the standards of care and leaving a profound impression on her.

The patient wrote, “Dionne was one of the finest, most caring and professional nurses I have ever had. I have spent plenty of time in the hospital — more than I care to admit. I’ve had good care before, but never at the level I received with Dionne. She constantly checked to see if I needed anything and was gentle and caring. I could tell she loves what she does. It takes a special person to be a nurse. If every nurse had Dionne’s positive, friendly attitude, the world would be a better place. Dionne is awesome!”

Thank you, Dionne, for going above and beyond for your patient. Keep up the great work!

Quartay receives a DAISY Award nomination

A patient nominated Quartay, aka Tay, for a DAISY Award for giving them the most attentive care and leaving a positive, genuine impact that will last a lifetime.

The patient wrote, “I was recently diagnosed with a mass on my left kidney. While I was at the hospital, I had a wonderful nurse named Tay. He is Amazing. I felt like he was the first nurse to ever be concerned about me — he was genuinely worried about how I was feeling. I often felt alone and stuck in my thoughts, but whenever Tay walked in, the atmosphere changed. That young man had some beautiful and bright energy. He would sit by my bed and talk with me during his free time, and he always had something new to talk about. When the time came to leave the hospital, I wanted to cry because he was so funny, kind, humble and caring. He is the kind of person you always want to be around. Whether or not he gets an award, please let him hear this story because I didn’t get to thank him enough for his services. Thank you, Tay.”

Tay, this is such an incredible example of what it truly means to be a nurse. From your team at Aya, thank you and congratulations.

Tifany receives praise from a patient

Tifany received praise from a patient who thanked for her professionalism and thought she was extraordinary!

The patient wrote, “During my two-week stay at the hospital, I had the privilege of meeting Tifany. She was compassionate, proficient, and listened when I described my veins are deep and rolling. The young and less-experienced techs left me hurting, bruised, and traumatized, but Tifany took her time, made one injection, drew the blood and did not hurt me or leave huge bruises. I appreciated her professional approach and wanted to relay my sincere gratitude for her attitude, compassion and ability to render service without harm.”

An extraordinary nurse, indeed! Your patients are luckily to have you, Tifany. Keep up the good work.

Sharee earns an Employee of the Month award

Sharee received an Employee of the Month award from her facility in August.

A patient who nominated Sharee wrote, “Sharee is definitely a spark plug and everyone knows an engine can’t run without a spark plug. Sharee gets it done. She’s not afraid to step up for any task and is definitely a team player. Her bedside manner is incredible — something that’s very rare these days. I can put it in one sentence: Sharee gets it done.”

A coworker who nominated Sharee also wrote, “Thank you, Sharee, for giving a very clear and concise handoff report for a patient who had to be a rapid response early in my shift. Your report helped me have a good understanding of the events that precipitated the patient’s symptoms. Thank you!”
