Catherine is nominated for a DAISY Award

A patient nominated Catherine for a DAISY Award for her creative thinking in making their hospital stay more comfortable.

“I want to give a special thanks to Catherine. I enjoyed her care and attention. It was early Thanksgiving morning around 2:00 a.m. and I wanted to take a hot shower but I couldn’t because of the heart monitor electrodes attached to my chest. Catherine helped set up a nice wash from the bathroom sink instead. She filled a container with soap and warm water, set out washcloths and towels and even brought out the shower chair, covering it in towels so I could sit comfortably. It was like a bath, body, and beyond experience, but in a hospital. Catherine went above and beyond to connect with me. She listened, planned and resolved my concerns. Catherine, thank you so much for being such a great, loving and caring nurse.”
