Aya RN, Alyssa, receives the first “Traveler of the Month” award!

An appreciative patient sent Alyssa a sincere thank you note, which led to her receiving the first-ever “Traveler of the Month Award” at the hospital.

The patient wrote, “Alyssa, I wanted to share my heart with you. You were such an answer to prayers. You helped me through one of the hardest, scariest things I have been through. You made me feel cared about and that I mattered. No matter how busy you were, you made time for me. You advocated for me and, as simple as the cheese platter was, it had a huge impact. I’m not usually the person people go out of the way for — I’m usually the one who ensures everyone has what they need or want, and it felt good to be spoiled. We need all nurses to have your heart. You are not just an amazing nurse but an amazing person. Again, thank you so very much. You made a huge difference and gave me hope. I will never forget you.”
