Aya Helps State of New Hampshire-Sponsored Project with Long Term Care Staffing

Healthcare consultant Christi Green participated in a State of New Hampshire-sponsored project to increase staffing in long-term care facilities. The goal of the project was to support hospitals as they transition patients out of the acute care setting and into long-term care. This was vital during the pandemic to free up beds in the acute care setting to care for new patients while allowing patients more time to heal in the long-term care setting.

“I’ve worked with Aya Healthcare at several organizations throughout my career,” said Green. “My teams have always been very happy with the quality of the staff that Aya provided to our facilities. When I had the opportunity to work with the State and found out their staffing needs, I immediately called on the Aya team for support.”

Green and her team were singularly focused on delivering contingent labor to Northeast Rehab, Premier Nursing and Rehab and Edgewood Nursing and Rehab facilities. Aya came through and delivered 46 long-term care RNs, medical surgical RNs, physical therapists and occupational therapists. The unit managers at the facilities highlighted responsiveness and proactive communication as the top benefits of working with Aya Healthcare. Green credits her Aya account manager’s thoroughness in working with the facilities and clinicians to ensure they had the staff they needed when they needed them. 

“The impact that Aya and their nurses made in our state was instrumental,” says Green. “We needed help during the middle of the pandemic, and Aya came through for us. We would not have been able to move long-term care patients out of acute care beds. And that cascade means we would have very sick acute care patients sitting in our emergency department hallway because we would not have been able to get them into a bed. Aya’s presence made such a significant difference to our patients.”
